It gives us immense pleasure to welcome you to the Indian Ataxia Conclave 2026, the Inaugural Conference of the National Ataxia Network of the Movement Disorders Society of India (MDSI), to be held from 16–17 May 2026 at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Ataxias represent a highly heterogeneous group of movement disorders with significant diagnostic delays, limited access to genetic testing, and few disease-modifying therapies, challenges that are particularly pronounced in India and similar regions. This conclave is designed to bridge these gaps by integrating state-of-the-art scientific updates, practical clinical guidance, genetic advances, and patient-centric care models. With the theme “From Clinics to Genetics and Beyond,” the conference will comprehensively cover clinical approaches, diagnostic strategies, genetic advances, and emerging research in ataxia.
The scientific program brings together national and international experts in movement disorders and ataxia, genetics, neuroimaging, pediatric neurology, and rehabilitation. Key themes include evolving concepts in hereditary and acquired ataxias, advances in genetic diagnostics (including next-generation and whole-genome sequencing), emerging therapeutic strategies, cerebellar neuromodulation, and reasons for failure of clinical trials in ataxia. Interactive formats such as case-based discussions, expert panels, an ataxia-centric quiz, and a hands-on genetic testing workshop are incorporated to enhance practical learning and clinical applicability.
We are confident that this inaugural gathering will serve as a strong foundation for the National Ataxia Network, encouraging long-term collaboration, research initiatives, and improved patient care across India.
We warmly invite you to join us in New Delhi for two days of enriching academic exchange, meaningful discussions, and collective learning.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Warm regards,
